Haramain Life Care was founded

on the foundation of personal
loss and a deep resolve to serve humanity. In the early 20th century, our founder,
Maulana
Kareem-ud-din, a respected scholar and humanitarian, lost his beloved wife, Zainab
Kareem,
during childbirth due to the absence of accessible and quality healthcare.
Motivated by this personal tragedy and a vision for change, he established the Haramain
Trust in 1945 with all his savings and the royalties from his published works. The Trust
was
committed to offering quality medical services to the underprivileged on a non-profit,
sustainable basis, and to support education and social welfare initiatives.
This vision began taking physical shape in 1975,
when
his son Dr. Ahsan Kareem and
daughter-in-law Begum Nighat Ahsan dedicated
their assets to build a healthcare facility focused on women and children.
By 1981, Haramain Life Care opened its doors as a 150-bed community
hospital,
focusing on maternal and child health. Over the years, by the grace of Allah
Almighty, it evolved into a 500-bed multidisciplinary tertiary care teaching
hospital, offering advanced medical services across various specialties.
Our core philosophy is rooted in cross-subsidization — the revenue generated
from affording patients helps fund the treatment of the underprivileged and
those who cannot pay. This model ensures that quality healthcare remains
accessible to all, irrespective of their financial condition.

Today, Haramain Life Care is not just a hospital — it is a center of healing,
learning,
and hope. We proudly serve as a teaching base for future healthcare professionals
through the Haramain College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, offering
programs
including MBBS, FCPS, MCPS, and nursing education at the Zainab Kareem College of
Nursing.
We continue to extend our reach through mobile health units and community outreach,
staying true to our founder’s dream: compassionate care for every life.
